G2's head coach, Rémy "XTQZZZ" Quoniam, will not be standing behind his players during the opening day of IEM Katowice's playoffs. The French coach tested positive for COVID-19 and has to isolate.

The news is another hit for the event, that has been plagued by COVID-related problems. Tyloo and Complexity weren't able to attend the first big event of the year due to travel restrictions and cases in the team, and several players were forced to play parts of the group stage from isolation after testing positive.

G2 will still play in the Spodek Arena, with team manager Jérôme Sudries stepping up as an interim coach.

The international roster will face Virtus.pro later today in the quarterfinals of the event.
