The PGL Antwerp Major

For the first Major of 2022, Valve has decided to revert back to the $1m prize pool.

Teams will qualify for the event through a RMR tournament, which will be divided into three regions: EMEA, Americas, and Asia-Oceania. If the global situation allows for it, the events will be held on LAN.

Antwerp is the biggest Dutch-speaking city in Belgium, with over half a million inhabitants. Situated on the banks of the Schelde river, the city is mostly known for its port and historical landmarks.

While not historically known for its esports culture, Antwerp has several advantages as a host. It's centrally located in Europe, is only a short train ride away from the main airport in Belgium, and has plenty of entertainment to offer in between matches.
