Someone has hijacked the “discovery” tab in Creative Mode

Creative Mode is a blessing and a curse for Fortnite. On one hand, it’s provided a whole new world to explore within the game. On the other, it’s allowed players to get so good that casuals can’t compete with someone who grinds retake/edit strats all day in Creative.

Recently, Epic changed their entire matchmaking portal to include the long list of Creative maps that are growing in popularity. You can now find box fights, 1v1’s, obstacle courses, practice maps, and a lot more directly from the lobby, allowing you to matchmake with other players.

This is a great change for the creators in the Fortnite space, along with players who spend more time in Creative than in the base game.

There are a few kinks to work out, though. The tab is confusing to new and returning players who just want to play Fortnite, for instance.

Recently, players have begun to notice a more troubling issue with the current system. Several accounts have figured out a way to game the system, pushing their identical maps to the front of the “discovery” tab.

I’m not sure what the benefit of such a manipulation is, apart from potential Creator Code profits that could come from people playing their maps.

Right now, the “discovery” tab is littered with the same, recolored 1v1 and FFA Pit maps, drowning out creators who spend time on unique creations for the game.

Epic have yet to release a statement on the topic, but  are almost certainly aware of the issue.

Whoever is behind this clearly knows something about how to get Creative maps on the “discovery” tab. Hopefully, Epic will fix the exploit sooner rather than later.
